I’m helping a friend research photographers in the New York area. Her budget is around $4000 - $5000 including albums. I’m going to be posting portfolios from some photographers, so please let me know if you’ve ever worked with them and what you thought. We both liked Zia Photography - with prices starting at $4500, this is at the way top of the budget.

This is Erik Eroth. Prices start at $3500. I kinda like his work too.

i dont know how big you would be into flying people in… but consider susan stripling http://www.susanstripling.com (florida), jessica claire jcsphoto.com (LA) and becker thebecker.com (LA). all charge a premium but their work looks fantastic!

Erik Ekroth did my wedding just this September 3rd. I haven’t seen a single picture yet, but I am sure you woudl do well in choosing him. We know that he captured every essence of our day and also believe that he is a magnificent spirit. With such beauyty behind the camera ..he’ll be able to capture everything beautiful in front of it. Erik photographed my wedding and we do not have any pictures of me alone in my dress. In fact, there is really only one picture of the back of my dress. During the ceremony, he took all the pictures from the back - we were of course, totally concentrating on the ceremony and not what he was doing… he did not take one picture of our faces/expressions during our ceremony - we have about 50 pics of the back of our heads though. We paid more than $5000 to have him and a assistant there and it is a heartbreak. I am so sad about the lack of nice pictures that we have - and everything else about our wedding was perfect. We are just thankful for our friends and family who took pictures - these shots are far better than anything we got from Erick’s shots.
