I never mentioned this, but I’m getting married on my sister’s sixth wedding anniversary. Although I gave her “veto” power, it was the only Saturday night that Battery Gardens had open in April or June so she couldn’t really say no (for some odd reason, May is considered bad luck in the Russian culture).

In order to commemorate the day, Carlo’s Bakery will copy the top tier of my sister’s wedding cake and she and her husband will have their own mini-cake cutting. Of course, this will be a complete surprise …. well, as long as she doesn’t read this post.
