About Mrs. Bee

Monsuraiya

February 9th, 2006 @ 2:30 pm by Mrs. Bee

Mr. Bee and I are attending a traditional Indian wedding next month. I just received the invitation last week and I’m so excited! There were so many components to the invite and the bride designed the motif herself in Illustrator.

This is the front and back of the invitation. (Click on the images for a larger view.)

One one side is the Mehndi invitation. On the other is a direction card to the Mehndi ceremony location.

This is the back and front of the rsvp postcard. Isn’t it so cute how their names - Monsur & Suraiya - can combine to form Monsuraiya? I love it!

The groom’s father even bought all of us Punjabis when he was travelling in Bangladesh to wear at the Mehndi Celebration the night before the wedding.

i love indian weddings! they’re so colorful and detailed and there’s so much culture in it.

i love how the reply cards say *blank* of 1 will be attending. That’s actually pretty clever. i think i’m gonna use that on mine.

I’d love to go to an indian wedding.

early on, I considered ordering invites from india, the prices are sooo cheap, but i ultimately decided against it — too much trouble.
