Chocolate Heaven

February 23rd, 2006 @ 3:18 pm by Mrs. Bee

I don’t really like chocolate (yes I’m a freak) but this is making me drool. Belgian chocolate pots filled with chocolate cake and topped with a truffle, chocolate curl, and a chocolate sail. Oh my goodness. Too bad it’s from Dragons and Daffodils - a bakery in Europe.

Does anyone know what was used to create the tiers? I’m looking to purchase/create something similar to display cupcakes at my wedding.

Hi!
Thank you for the lovely comments about my cakes! Imagine my suprise when I found it through a search. Thought you might like some info.
We use a British company to supply us with the little dark chocolate pots, they are called Cuvettes. We put a cube of cake, top them with choc fudge, then a Truffle, chocolate cigarillo and a chocolate sail using a transfer sheet. The stand is simply cake drums and polystyrene cake shapes glue-gunned together and painted with tempered chocolate.
Fab to see them on the net!
Fab site!

ps The bottom pic is a completely different style of cake. We hand make the pots using a rosti ring and strips of transfer sheets which we coat with tempered chocolate, pop inside the ring to shape, refrigerate, then remove, place on greaseproof paper, fill the base with more tempered choc and refrigerate again. These hand made cases can then be filled with cake and fudge topping. Use the rosti ring as a cutter to make a belgian chocolate lid (We use acetate sheets coated with tempered belgian chocolate which are then cut to shapes)
Best wishes from Wales, UK
