Aunt Nalani’s Cookies

February 28th, 2006 @ 10:11 am by Mrs. Firefly

I received a sample of Aunt Nalani’s Cookies yesterday. The packaging is beautiful. However, I wasn’t terribly impressed with the cookies themselves; they are much smaller than those shown on the website. I think the cookies would make a nice favor for the shower, but I’ll go with something else (hopefully the photobooth), for the wedding.

Thx for the “review”. Honest opinions like yours really help us readers know where IS a good place to shop and where is NOT.

The box is beautiful, but the cookies look tiny.

Aloha from Auntie Nalani! I was made aware of your website -lots of information for sure, I was sad though that you were disappointed in my cookies, I wanted to be sure you knew that the picture pulled from my website is from a page titlted”other goodies” The picture you saw is actually of a HUGE basket - it is about 8″ by 10 “, this is a photo of our Chewy Cookies, as discribed on the same page as the photo. I do not want you to feel that I mis represented my product in any way. I have mentioned in several areas of the website that the favor baskets are filled with “about 40 quarter size cookies” these are the small crispy cookies that you recieved. I am only emailing you this because I have a very small company, we work very very hard to put out a beautiful and yummy wedding favor for each and every bride. I would never want anyone to think otherwise. with that said I wanted to thank you for pointing out that maybe I need to figure out a way to label that single photo, I will admit that after 6 years you were the first bride who had this confusion, but in my eyes one is enough and I want to make sure that everyone who encounters us has only great things to say. I am glad you found somthing that worked for you as we cannot do ALL the weddings, this of course I know but I felt bad that we had disappointed you. Much aloha and I wish you the best.

I have ordered samples from Auntie Nalani, along with a sample basket. The cookies that were sent were about a quarter size (as she stated on her website). I “tested” these cookies with people I work with and they were a hit. And to be honest, the presentation of the favor is amazing. I coulnt have asked for better.

I ordered a sample of Auntie Nalani’s cookies and I thought they were wonderful! The basket that they came in was beautifully packaged and I plan to order them for favors for my wedding in September. Everyone I shared the cookies with loved them and then once I showed them the box they came in they were completely enthralled. I can’t wait to see the reaction on all of my guests faces at my wedding! Thanks Nalani for developing such a wonderful product!!!

I ordered cookies from her and Aunt Nalani messed up on my order. By the time I found out, it was too late to do anything about it. I emailed her about it after the wedding. She still hasn’t replied (It has been months). Although she was nice when she received my order, I would’ve like to seen her follow through and take responsibility for her mistakes too. A customer usually understands that people in business make mistakes too…but it is not a good feeling to be ignored. So remember, if something goes wrong…you are not even going to get an apology from her…but she will charge the full amount to your credit card and never reply to your email.

I ordered cookies from Nalani for my wedding over a year ago and I just found this website and this blog. It has always bothered me, so I want to add my thoughts. Nalani was very nice before the wedding, but she screwed up the count on my order, which caused a tremendous amount of stress and the need to come up with over 2 dozen additional last-minute favors from another company. When I complained, she never got back to me. As for the cookies themselves, they are OK. There’s certainly nothing special about them — a lot of air and quite bland. Basically, I think you could get much more for your money somplace else (her products are not cheap!) In short, I would never order from her again.

My friend just told me that she had posted a blog. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones to be dissatisfied with Auntie Nalani’s cookies. I ordered the favors like the one pictured above. It looked beautiful. One small problem — she spelt the name on the tag wrong! By the time we caught the mistake (hours beforehand because she was late in getting them to us), there wasn’t anything we could do to change it. I had our bridesgirls run around and snip off all of the tags, so luckily it ended up looking all right. Unfortunately, our nice little quote wasn’t part of the favor, and of course the stress of it all was horrendous. I actually stopped by Nalani’s store to complain, and she didn’t do a thing! She apologized but tried to make like it all turned out OK, so why was I complaining. I really got the feeling that she was more concerned about making money than anything else, which I found hurtful because she was soooo nice beforehand. Anyway, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

It is all about the money. Once she has your credit card number, she becomes a whole new person.

When Auntie Nalani did our wedding she worked totally around me! When I would call her 50 times before my wedding she always greeted me with aloha. What I loved is that they are really resonable for $7.00 shipping is included. I really loved the cookies also. I would highly recommend them to any other bride.
