The Bridesmaid Vision

March 13th, 2006 @ 12:22 pm by Mrs. Ant

- Dessy/After 6
- Celestial Blue
- Georgette material (or chiffon)
- Knee length
- Different style for each bridesmaid
- Orange gerbera daisy bouquet

(Our wedding colors are sky blue and mango orange)

I love love LOVE the look! And so do my bridesmaids! Yay.

We had an appointment with Adrienne’s Boutique in the LES this past Saturday. But Dessy/After Six had not sent them any sample dresses in celestial blue. Plus, the samples were all size 10, which were HUGE on my bridesmaids (who range from size 0 to size 4). So we really had to use our imaginations!

I thought about ordering swatches so we could see what celestial blue georgette looked like, but it costs a whopping $15 for two measley 6 x 6 swatches! Plus, I can’t believe these polyester dresses retail for around $200… What a rip-off!

We budgeted to pay for their dresses. I’m thinking about ordering the bridesmaids dresses online to save money. Has anyone ordered their bridesmaids dresses online? How was the experience? How did you determine sizing?

Despite the ridiculous pricing, I’m pretty happy with the overall decision. My bridesmaids in NYC are happy with the dresses and found styles that they really like. My sister in LA and bridesmaid in Baltimore both have Dessy/ After 6 retailers nearby. And we all LOVE the “vision”!!! Yay.

I loooove the blue and mango combo!!! Did you see a recent layout for that scheme in some wedding magazine recently? I can send it to you if you like, but it’s more of a vibrant blue.

still beautiful color choice esp for a destination wedding!

Try netbride.com-I got my bridesmaid dresses about 1.5 months early and saved $60/dress.

We used netbride too for dessy/after six dresses and it worked out great, saving half the cost of the 6 dresses, got it early (to canada). For sizing, we just guesstimated by the size chart and did alterations after (most were still too big) I highly recommend Netbride.
