I absolutely loved the elegant wedding hairstyles featured on Once Upon a Bride’s site. The vintage inspired combs, brooches and headbands they used in their hairstyles were simply gorgeous.

I gave the place a call and chatted with the owner about the different services they offer. Once Upon a Bride is actually a full service bridal studio that travels to you on your wedding day. Their services include make-up, hair styling, hair cut/color, airbrush makeup, spray tan, eyelash extensions and make-up/hair lessons. They even carry a line of hair accessories.

Prices vary depend on whether you book a senior stylist, the founder, or the owner. Trial consultations last approximately 2 1/2 hours where several different looks will be tried.

Trial Consultations - $250-$300
Bridal hair - $250-$450.
Bridal make-up - $250-$450
Wedding Party hair - $125-$150
Wedding Party make-up - $125-$150

my problem is that i refuse to pay that much for a “consultation” … i don’t mind spending a lot on the day of, but what if i don’t like them, $300 down the drain!

what are your thoughts on a bride doing her own make up the day of the wedding? is that taboo? or okay?

I had no problem paying for the consultation-that is someone’s time and expertise you are paying for and truthfully Stacey was amazing for my consultation she really listened and truly “gets it” (and you all know what I mean when they DON’T get it!!!). I was very satisfied w/my OUB experience and have booked them for my wedding.

Not to mention the make up artists at Once Upon A Bride are AMAZING! I hired them for my wedding…I looked like ME only better. I didn’t feel like I had make up on, but I looked (and felt) gorgeous! I worked with Dana; she listened to what I wanted, and since she’s also an esthetician, she gave me advice on how to prepare my skin for my wedding. She was incredible on the day of my wedding as well…it’s just so important to have someone talented who you actually like with you on your big day
