Oooops … I had the wrong Pope listed . Fixed now.

I’m finalizing my B-list for invitations. Along with some office colleagues, I’ve decided to add a few other guests:

Word on the street is that you will receive a letter of congratulations from the President and First Lady - suitable for framing.

I’m Jewish, but I wouldn’t mind receiving a papal blessing.

It’s said that the Queen of England might send her regrets if she receives an invitation; but I believe it’s signed by her lady in waiting, which isn’t that cool.

I hate to point this out, because in all my studies of Vatican history, I’ve come to admire John Paul II very much, but he passed away last year….
The current pope is Pope Benedict XVI, nee Joseph Ratzinger. A heads up for when you address the invitations

Here are the official guidelines on how to get a white house congrats: http://www.whitehouse.gov/greeting/ It says that you’re supposed to send your invite after the wedding, but I have no idea how strictly they enforce the rules. Good luck!
