This is something I really wish I had done for my wedding - donated the flowers to a charity like the Flower Power Foundation that rearranges them and delivers them to the elderly, sick, and terminally ill.

Based right here in New York City, Flower Power works with your floral designer to arrange the pick up and to assure that your flowers remain in great shape. They also provide table cards upon request that recognize your commitment to re-purposing (great for preventing those pesky centerpiece snatchers!).

I think this is just the most wonderful idea. Flower Power also suggests a 5-10% donation of your floral budget to cover the costs of the project. A small price to pay - I think - to brighten up someone’s day.
