About Mrs. Bee

Hello from Mr. Bee

March 31st, 2006 @ 2:34 pm by Mrs. Bee

Hello, this is Mr. Bee. Mrs. Bee isn’t feeling well today, so she asked me to guestblog… and like the DH that I am, I said “yes”.

It’s been a lot of fun watching Weddingbee grow. The site’s only been live about two months or so, and the response has been tremendous! Traffic in the second month is over 6x what it was in the first month. Maybe there’s something to this weblog thing after all…

Speaking of which, check out this list of the top 100 blogs out there… every year, more and more of them are from professional writers and journalists! But most of them are about “boy” subjects like gadgets, politics, and technology… other than the gossip blogs (written mostly by men), where are the blogs that interest women?

I think that female friendly blogs are the Next Big Thing. So far, there haven’t been that many professional blogs in the genre, although *ahem*, hopefully Weddingbee is an exception! But in the next year or so, look for that to change. Weddingbee is just the first in a series of blogs coming from Busy Bee Blogs!

How are you liking Weddingbee so far? And what other female friendly topics would you like to see covered in a blog?

Hi Mr. Bee~ I think this site is wonderful. Your wife is doing an exceptional here! :-) I am not engaged yet either but that doesn’t keep me from reading this site daily. I love the frequent updates and all the gorgeous photos of dresses, flowers etc. Its great that it is also written by multiple people instead of just one for various accounts and views. It totally works! Love it love it! Ideas: Food blog and Shopping blog maybe?

My friends and I LOVE this site and we can’t seem to stop by just once a day… Great job to Mrs Bee and her helpers. Once, Mrs Bee becomes the “Queen Bee” (aka: mommy) I would love to hear about her baby series… ;o)

i started reading weddingbee from the good old xanga days and really like all the information abt wedding planning that’s shared on the site. i’ll be getting married this oct in CA and have gotten a lot of insight and ideas from all the brides that post abt their planning. i think bee mentioned that they would be expanding it to different regions outside of NY.. if so, please do it soon! :-D

I LOVE this website, even tho i’m not even engaged yet :-D. In fact, your site has become my very favorite site to read. I visit it every day and sometimes even get disappointed when there is no new blogs. :-P. Yeah i’m a dork. But i’m a big fan of Weddingbee! Keep up the great work!
p.s. Oh i guess the only thing I could think of that I wish for is there can be info on happenings in Ca (even better, Northern Ca). Since you guys are all in NY, most of the vendors/resources/events are the NY ones. But no matter what, Weddingbee is tremendously resourceful. :-)

Hi Mr Bee

I too am a regular reader of this site and I check it daily. I am getting married in NJ but that doesnt even matter since many of the things posted on this site dont have anything to do with location. I find it a wonderfully light hearted fun read as well as incredibly useful as well. I agree with the other readers as I would love a baby blog (I imagine I will be doing to the same once I have a baby) and also maybe a shopping blog since you and Mrs Bee live in the mecha of shopping where you can go from Tiffanys to Louis Vitton all the way down to Chinatown and other vintagey and unique shopping expereinces. Tell Mrs Bee to feel better and she is doing a fabulous job!

Oh, I have to give you applause on sharing your honest opinions/personal experiences with us. I find sites like The Knot way to commercialized/not personal enough.

Oh and I do love the wonderful multi blogger set up. I dont live in NYC so I cant help Wedding Bee but if Mrs Bee does other topics of locations Id love to join =)

Hi Mr Bee! Maybe you can do a regular “groom’s view” column for us?

In my humble opinion, there is no other wedding blog out there right now that is even in the same universe of fabulousness as this one. I second the baby blog suggestion and would also love to see something for newlyweds (kinda like the nest, but way cooler with topics ranging from financial to decorating, to organizing, etc). Also, maybe a cooking blog for people who have no earthly clue how to cook but want to learn (if you could hurry up with that one, I would appreciate it :) )

Rock on Mr & Mrs Bee!

Love love love this site! Being engaged, I’ve turned to this blog for ideas and advice. The pictures, the experiences, the opinions make this site awesome! Keep up the FANTASTIC job, ladies (and guest, Mr. Bee)!!

I second a baby blog, a cooking blog, and/or a shopping blog. If these ever get implemented, my productivity would sure suffer! :)

Hi, I’m also a huge fan of this site. I’ve found so many good ideas and lots of helpful advice. I’m getting married in the Chicago area in October and this has been a great site for honest and true info, and lots of it too. I also like the multi-author format. Thanks!

I think the “Mr. Bee Column” would be nice too :).

Though I got married five years ago, I still enjoy all things having to do with weddings. This is a GREAT site and I check it at least once a day! All weddingbee suggestions are excellent and cover a broad range of topics. I love that entries are archived both by date and also by topic- very user friendly. Several people suggested a cooking site. I’m not 100% sure, but I thought Mrs. Bee ran the xanga site- koreancooking, no? If so, that was also excellent. I used to check it often and am sad to see that postings have slowed down there because of weddingbee- but that’s alright. Please continue the great work Mrs. Bee and friends!

Hi Sunny!

Yes I do run http://www.xanga.com/koreancooking! I haven’t been able to update it as frequently as I used to, but I plan on continuing with it in the near future!

I love this site! I check this as often as I do my email! I’m engaged now and it’s one of the biggest resources I use. Thanks so much for all the tips and great ideas!

For the future, I hope you go into the Chicago area, (though I’ll be married by then) just b/c I know I’m missing out not living in NYC. Also a newlywed blog would be great too!

hahahah oh lord i thought of something!
it would be funny to get the bloggers significant others to write their own section about being married/getting married to a bug. my man would have a WHOLE list of things to say. hahaha never spend time with him, wedding ideas 24/7, blah blah blah….

i think it’s great that mr bee is helping bee while she’s out sick. kudos to the supportive husband. 8 )
