Do you need a new set of luggage for your honeymoon? I’m actually in the market for a good garment bag myself because Mr. Bee and I have to travel to so many weddings.
Luggage Online offers free shipping on purchases over $125 ($10 shipping for purchases under $125) and free returns. Plus they offer a price guarantee on internet advertised prices.
This 5 piece Samsonite Nested Set is only $169.95.

Or you could always register for luggage. That’s what we should have done.

You guys know you can’t have all 3 you smart asses! At least write what you really want on the back of the card! Now I’m forced to call you and talk to you boobs! Why must you torture me so!
Guess what came in the mail?!!!
You have to see them in person. The photos don’t really do them any justice. They’re sooo cute! I ordered these from Pegeen. I love them and the woman I’ve been dealing with, Marge, is so prompt in getting back to you and helping you pick the right measurements.

Recently we’ve received a lot of emails from brides asking us how to find Knottie Bios. To tell you the truth, I could never figure it out either so I’ve never surfed any bios myself.
Our Knottie correspondent Miss Dragonfly tells us that she uses the magnificentbliss directory (where brides add their own bios) to begin searching. If you know the username of a specific bride, you can also put it into theknot’s bio search tool.
For the most part though, I think brides jump from one bio to another by clicking on links. And as far as I can tell, there is no way to look for bios in specific cities (I think there used to be an engine for that but it no longer works).
Bios can be a very helpful tool when planning your wedding - it just takes a little practice to learn how to surf them. Hope this helps. Happy surfing!
From today’s About.com newsletter, here are links to some wacky wedding trivia.
The wedding newsletters from About are very informative and cover many different wedding topics. Here’s the link to sign up.

Mr. Bee and I took pictures around the city in our wedding attire before our wedding. We were running way behind schedule, but were able to take pictures in 3 different locations: 1) behind the Ritz Carlton Battery Park, 2) City Hall, and 3) Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The pictures we took at Brooklyn Bridge Park with Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge in the background were definitely my favorite - well worth the trip across the bridge. There is no parking though so be sure you have a driver.
I’d always wanted to take wedding pictures in front of the Flatiron Building but there was construction on the building at the time so it was covered with ugly black tarps. We also didn’t have time to make it uptown to Grand Central and stuck to the downtown area for our pictures.

Do you have any other suggestions for scenic photography spots in New York?
Michael C. Fina will be featuring cake tasting (YUM!) from some of the top pastry chefs in the New York area. To read more details or to RSVP, click here.
Clienty, a New York based site, is supposed to be like ebay but for weddings. Brides post about products/services they need, and local vendors contact them with proposals. It’s all completely free to the bride and she’s not obligated to use any particular vendor’s services.
Clienty is a relatively new site so I don’t think there are that many vendors on there yet, but it definitely might be a site to watch.

I finally finished reading this last night (at 1am). Doug Gordon is a good writer - he definitely keeps your interest.
The book is divided into sections that deal with a specific portion of the wedding. This allows the reader (presumably an engaged groom) to skip around and find the chapters that are relevant to them. We all know what kind of attention span men have
- so this book is more of a weddings 101 for clueless men.
I honestly liked the book a lot. I think it had a lot of standard information (any bride who’s even a little into the wedding process would have known most of this information). This is not a book for you to get too many ideas for personalization, unique wedding favors, etc. This book is for men to get an introductory understanding of weddings, what’s involved and what’s expected of them.
The book is very informational, but also told from a personal point of view. The author keeps referring back to his own wedding as for examples. He has other couples’ stories as well, and those are always fun to read.
Overall, I would say that this book would make a great gift to any man who has recently gotten engaged. It will help him deal with why his bride-to-be is stressing out over a seemingly small detail, and it will help him to be more than just a penguin who shows up on the right day to say “I do”. It will hopefully get the groom involved in the wedding planning process, even if it’s only a little bit.
Great job, Doug Gordon!

I remember one of my biggest fears was waking up on my wedding day with a big fat pimple because I tend to break out when I’m stressed out.
Most of you have probably heard about putting Visine on your pimples to make them appear less red. I read a great tip from make-up artist Mally Roncal in the summer 2006 issue of Modern Bride New York. She suggests you douse q-tips with visine and freeze them. Then apply the q-tip to your pimple - the coldness reduces the swelling, and the Visine eliminates the redness. Genius!

Wowsers. You have to read these articles about marriage by Leanne Bell. On the one hand she makes some outrageous and antiquated arguments, but on the other she presents a surprisingly enlightened view on topics like same sex marriages. Nonetheless the articles are well argued and an interesting read.
“Women who don’t take their husband’s surname after marriage are not sexually attracted to them and will likely be the one to initiate divorce.” (Maiden Names)
“Everything a woman values most in life can be directly attributed to her husband’s penis.” (His Penis)

edit: Here’s a direct link to the article.
There was a great article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday titled Love & Money. You’ll have to create a free account to be able to access it if you don’t already have one, but it’s a great read.

The article raises these 9 questions you should discuss with your significant other before walking down the aisle.
1. What are your financial assets and liabilities?
2. How do you use debt?
3. What is your money history?
4. Do we need a prenup?
5. What are your financial aspirations?
6. What are your career expectations?
7. How do you propose we divide financial duties?
8. Will we operate from one checkbook or three?
9. Do you have a basic understanding of money?
I have a friend of a friend of a friend. He was struggling financially as was his girlfriend, but they loved each other so they married. What she didn’t tell him until after they were married was that she had amassed over $30,000 in debt due to her penchant for luxury goods. ![]()
I suppose she didn’t tell her husband about her debt because money is difficult to talk about in any circumstance. Money is after all, the number one source of marital fights. Still I can’t imagine holding back that kind of information under any circumstance - it’s just not fair to your spouse.
How financially honest are you with your future husband?
