Men’s Wearhouse II

April 22nd, 2006 @ 1:03 am by Mrs. Butterfly

After my bad experience with the 46th street location in Manhattan, I decided to check out another location. A good thing about Men’s Wearhouse is that once you pay for alterations on a purchase, all future alterations are free. Since we already paid for the alterations on the suit, we took it back - but not to the same location (obviously).

We went to the one on 34th street (350 Fifth Avenue). I told them that I was unsatisfied with what the first store did to the suit. I expressed my worries about Men’s Wearhouse in general, and how I didn’t trust the name anymore. Of course, this had exactly the effect that I wanted. I got top notch service. The tailor came out, remeasured the pants and came back in 15 minutes with it already fixed. Men's Wearhouse II : wedding new york Stunned Talk about good service!!! They did an excellent job too! They are also going to take in the jacket (like I wanted it in the first place). Then, they called the Houston location where we bought the tux and had them ship it to this location instead, and NOT to 46th street.

So if you are planning to rent or buy a tux from Men’s Wearhouse, I highly suggest you go to the one on 34th street. One note of warning - do NOT go when it is busy. Call ahead and find out when their non-peak hours are - you always get better service when there are fewer people in the store.

The people I spoke to were: Mike and the manager Jaime. These two men were excellent, very personable, and NOT pushy. I really had a great experience with them.

Final Rating:
A-

men’s warehouse eh?
i know some one who worked there. she hated the place. since the employees work on commission, they only care if you are there to spend $$, very superfacial at 1st.

then there is the good ole service and supply.
service? there is none, so i stop here.
supplies? 20 different ties, 4 different shoes. let’s not get into the jackets and vests, painful.

it’s more like men’s barn yard.

so we went to a local place.
can’t say the service is good. but there IS service present. then the supply, the place is 1/10 the size of men’s warehouse. somehow, it holds 10x more styles, colors and sizes. then there are the gigantic catalogs we can choose more styles, colors and sizes.

didn’t see any catalog from men’s warehouse. oh, that’s right, can’t really access the catalog when there is no service bringing the catalog to the customer.

maybe So Cal men’s warehouse just suck ass like that.

Men’s Warehouse was our nightmare. My Dad got his tux fitted in Philly. When he tried it on the day before my wedding, the pants was up to his knees! The tux was fitted for a dwarf and they gave us the wrong tux!!! It was a nightmare, he had to get it altered on the day of my wedding. We took it to 21st street and they were great. They even refunded us for the tux.

Susan, The pant’s could’ve been altered instead of you going thorugh all this hastle. Mistakes happen and I bet you it was the hub that delivers and puts together the tux that screwed up the pants. It’s happened numerous times and no, there is no way of calling the hub to make sure that the clothes are right to fit. That is why TMW offers to tailor if anything is too short.
