Music of the Night…

April 27th, 2006 @ 1:11 pm by Mrs. Butterfly

What are your music plans for your wedding day? I’m thinking a string quartet during the pre-ceremony and the ceremony, and then a DJ for the rest of the night.

I spoke with a DJ yesterday and was surprised to find out that it was a woman (slightly older). She had a great personality and a great voice, and her musical style is very flexible depending on what I want. It all sounds good, and the price seems OK. But I guess whenever I think “DJ,” I think a younger male. Am I the only one who thinks this way? Maybe it’s from all my clubbing days…

Although I liked her, I asked the company to set up another phone interview with a male DJ just so that I can get a feel for personalities.

So, what do you think about a female DJ?

I just got married a month ago and I used “NY Entertainment”. They were the talk of the night!!!! You definitely should look into it. The MC’s name is Joey. I highly recommend them. A little pricey but well worth it~

I’ve seen great female bandleaders so if she’s good….why not!

What possible difference could the gender of the DJ make? That’s just crazy!

Female DJs are not bad. I mean, they can be as good as males. But i guess it’s even more odd since she’s “slightly older”. Good luck!

I think a female DJ would be cool. We had a singer and pianoist during the cermony, dj during cocktail hour, live band during the reception, and the dj again after dinner.

I was against a string quartet since I used to be in one. The singer we had sung gorgeous frank sinatra songs for us!
