Nothing to Wear!

May 3rd, 2006 @ 8:05 am by Mrs. Bee

I have nothing to wear for the next wedding I’m attending so I need to buy a dress! Since it’s a daytime summer wedding, I’d love to get a dress with color. So I checked out the Nordstrom website because they have a fairly large online selection…

I like the square neckline and the belt detail on this ABS Shantung Dress number. The empire waist also makes you look taller. Very lady-like. $240.

This is pretty, but I’m worried that it might be a little low cut. Click to enlarge the image and see the detailing. Adriana Papell Beaded Overlay Godet Dress - $158

I actually bought this Bari Jay Metallic Lace Dress to wear to my brother’s wedding last year but it was way too small in the boob area. I think it’d look great on someone small and slim.

There’s also a halter version ($158), but all halters look horrible on me.

n3

I don’t have much luck buying clothes online. Maybe I just have an oddly shaped body.

Go for the Adriana Papell dress. Her cuts are flattering yet forgiving. It’s almost strange how the same size dress can accommodate different bodies and still look good.

By the way, I just took my sister prom dress shopping. The best places to look are Macy’s & Loehmann’s.

Heee heee… i had just tried on the “Adriana Papell Beaded Overlay Godet Dress” last week when I was shopping for my bro’s upcoming day-time wedding in July… except the one I tried on had light lilac layer underneath instead. It was a very pretty dress, especially with all the beading. But to tell you the truth, since I’m not very “well endowed” on the top or the bottom, the dress’ lack of any stretch and its type of cut (more just straight up and down) makes someone like me look even more like a “stick”. So I decided to look around more for other options instead. Luckily I did find something else a few days later, something that is more tailored to show more curves. :-)

The ABS dress is very pretty. I love the color and the cap sleeves. So feminine. Good luck Mrs. Bee!

I love the first dress! Thanks for showing it. I was shopping for a dress to a wedding in a couple of weeks, and haven’t found anything cute that covers my arms. :oP All the other dresses are pretty too, just that they show too much skin for me to be comfortable in when it comes to a family wedding.

i havent even thought about buying a dress yet. i’ll probably buy it like one week before the weddiing because i’m lazy and i’m broke. i like the 1st and 3rd dress the most, not so much the beaded one b/c it seems more suitable for a nighttime wedding. pastel dresses can also be very pretty too!
