Choosing our first dance song was very difficult. It had to be a song that we both loved. It had to be a song with meaningful lyrics. It had to be easy to dance to. We ended up choosing… It Had To Be You! First Dance Song : wedding Laughing

It was perfect because we’re both huge fans of the movie, we both love the song, we were getting married in New York where they movie takes place, and everyone from our parents to our friends knew the song.

But it did take a while for us to finally come to that decision. Top of the World by the Carpenters was kinda “our song” but we thought it was inappropriate for a first dance song. I’d always loved Come What May by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, but my friend used that song for her first dance. I love At Last by Etta James but it’s such a popular wedding song. I threw around some pop song ideas like I’ll Be by Edwin McCain but Mr. Bee didn’t know them. My ultimate cheesy song that I love, love love? Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse!

Anyway my point is that it was a process coming to the decision. I looked through database after database of possible first dance songs and talked about tons of different possibilities with Mr. Bee… So take your time and choose a first dance song that has meaning for both you and your fiance. These Are the Days by Van Morrison

Its the ending song to Nine Months where theyre dancing around with the baby. I love that movie but my fiance never saw it before One day it was on TV and so we watched it together and I told him all the good parts that where coming up since I saw that movie like 30 million times. Anyways at the end the song started to play as they danced and I looked at him and went can this be our first dance song and he said yes!

My cousin had “The Way You Look Tonight” by Elton John as her first dance. I’d never heard it before but it’s a great song and has a very nice rhythym for dancing.

Lots of my friends have claimed that Brighter Than Sunshine by Aqualung is going to be their wedding song. It’s really nice and worth listening to for those who are trying to find one.

We’re going with “Feels Like Home” by Randy Newman.

The first time I heard the song was at a Randy Newman concert with my FH. I could imagine us dancing to the song at our wedding and I teared up. Seven years later, we decided that it will be “our song.”
