We didn’t provide our band/dj (we did both) with any specific song requests; we just gave them general guidelines for the styles of music we wanted played. We did however give them a do not play list (incidentally several of those songs are within this top 100 most requested list 
).

Maybe it’s just me, but the way you wrote the intro, it sounds like this was a do not play list…after reading I was like “wow, they really didn’t want that played?!?!” so i clicked the link and saw it’s a list of the most requested songs!

Hip hop can be fun. But no hardcore rap gangstaaa songs w/foul lyrics of course. And no religion-referring songs that have the word “God” in them. Total respect to anyone who is, but I’m just not religious.

Any rap, heavy metal, or in general, any music that have lyrics that are very violent and degrading.

A DJ should not have a “do not play” list. If the client requests it, he should play it. I’d rather not play Lady Gaga or Black Eyed Peas for the 1000th time, but the crowd wants to hear it.
