The Making of a Program…

May 26th, 2006 @ 8:57 am by Mrs. Spider

These are wedding fonts I am quite fond of using. I downloaded them for free by googling them. I won’t link them here in case it’s illegal to do that or you get a virus and sue me. We live in a litigious society after all.

I could not figure out a way to upload up the actual Illustrator files for the wedding programs I made. I suspect it is not possible to do so. The layouts are below - you can either retype everything yourself OR email me and I’ll send you a copy of the files so you can play around with it.

Can you please email this to me as well? I originally wasn’t going to have a program, but you’ve made them look so pretty and so simple to make, I’ve decided to do programs. One quick question: How did you get the ribbon to look so neat? Any tips?

Oh yeah to answer Robin’s question about the ribbon: there is no real trick except to find a length that you like and pre-cut all the ribbon. Loop it through the slits and I found it looks better to tie the knot by the bottom hole. To tie it, I did a simple loop knot by looping both ends around one finger and then slipping the ends through (not the crossover knot for tying shoes ). I hope this makes sense. =) Then I cut the ends of the ribbon at a diagnol.

Hi! Can you send me a copy of the program file? I love how you placed the mongram in the background. I’ve alredy dorn my program template in word, as a booklet style, so I don’t know how to incorporate the monogram background. Maybe I’ll print it with the monogram, and then print it again with the text? But How did you get it to cross page lines?
Tanks,
tAnya
