Groom’s Cake

The wedding I went to this weekend had both a wedding cake and a groom’s cake at the reception. It was surprising how many people hadn’t heard of a groom’s cake. Mostly the people who were confused were men, but a lot of girls hadn’t heard of them either.
I think having a groom’s cake is a very nice tradition. I would probably serve the groom’s cake at the rehearsal dinner, separate from the wedding cake. Though I would have no idea what the shape would be for Mr. Butterfly - he’s not a die hard sports fan.

I’ve heard that it’s a southern thing, but I dunno. We weren’t going to, but I now think we have decided to go ahead and get one. We won’t have the groom’s cake for the wedding, but rather the rehearsal dinner.
my aunt had a groom cake in the shape of a football field for my uncle favorite team the LSU tigers. and that is the first time i ever seen a groom cake.

No groom’s cake for us. Mr Ant doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth.
He would much rather prefer a groom’s bucket-of-fried-chicken. Or a groom’s slab-of-meat.
