Discount Designer Dresses

May 31st, 2006 @ 9:47 am by Mrs. Bee

I recently moved down the street from one of the city’s many Housing Works thrift stores. I love shopping at thrift stores because I can find great deals on vintage and designer clothing, handbags, home goods and so much more.

Yesterday I popped into Housing Works, as I regularly do, because merchandise changes daily so you never know what you’ll find. I ended up buying 3 dresses - a pink Laundry dress I’ll wear to the next wedding I attend, a Pucci inspired number that’s perfect for a party, and a Juicy Couture tshirt dress. Plus a super cool vintage purse - all for only $160.

I’ve found some awesome clothes and purses at thrift stores and consignment shops throughout New York. These are my favorite places to check out:

Housing Works
City Opera Thrift Shop
Angel Street Thrift Shop
Fisch for the Hip (consignment shop)
Ina (consignment shop)
Century 21 (discount designer goods)

Mr. Bee and I have been invited to 7 weddings this year - 3 down, 4 to go. That means I need several new dresses. :P

If you’re on a budget, like to find a great deal, or love vintage/one-of-a-kind dresses - the stores listed above are great places to look. Now I have to start scoping out stores that specialize in vintage clothing…
