About Mrs. Bee

No Pay for Play

June 1st, 2006 @ 1:09 pm by Mrs. Bee

At the Ladies Who Launch meeting last night, someone asked if weddingbee would ever do editorials for vendors who pay us to do so. I’ve thought about this extensively but haven’t really had the issue come up, as we don’t host any ads… yet. ;)

I think readers generally feel close to bloggers because they inject so much of their personal voices and experiences into their blogs. You really get to “know” and trust a blogger’s opinion. Here at weddingbee, our readers’ trust is of paramount importance — so we will never feature advertorial vendors or products in any of our posts.

Can I ask you then, how does Wedding Bee make money?
Feel free to e-mail me if that is confidential!

i like weddingbee because it feels like i really know you gals.. but have to admit that if weddingbee ever becomes commercialized, i probably won’t visit so often anymore.

Yeah I agree with Nanice. It just wouldn’t be the same if advertorials were included.

I like blogs that are personalized, real stories. If you use the vendor personally great advertise and share the experience.

It helps to know that what you write about is honest… not because someone pays you to do it– best wedding site around!

THANK YOU THANK YOU Mrs. Bee! That’s one of the (many) things I love about Weddingbee… that your opinions are not *bribed* by paying vendors. That’s what sets you apart from other sites. Thank you for recognizing, valuing, and honoring our trust.
