Our day started at Great Adventure. Suprisingly there weren’t too many people, so the longest we waited for rides was about 20 minutes tops. We went on rollercoasters and water rides - I don’t know what it is about Mr. Snail and water rides… he loooooves them. I love them too but he really, REALLY loves them. We went on Congo Rapids and got completely soaked, then had lunch and dried out in the sun while having random conversations of “what if’s.” We went on one last water ride, Log Flume, before we headed to the Sky Ride.
While we were waiting in line for the Sky Ride (cable car that takes you across the entire park) he talked about how he was craving some good Korean food after all the greasy fries and burgers we had. We started going across as I “ooh’d and ahhh’d” over the theme park view. He was sitting across from me, holding both of my hands and continuing our conversation in Korean… (crappy English translation below but the Korean version blew me away)
When you have a great meal, your entire day is happy
When you buy a new cell phone, you’re happy for a week
When you buy a new car, it’ll leave you happy for a month
When you buy a new home, you’re happy for the yearBut to be happy every single day, always and forever…
Do you know how that’ll happen? It is together with you.
Meanwhile, I was nodding my head agreeing with him, smiling, still had no CLUE (can someone say IDIOT?!?!?!) because food makes me happy, I just got a new cell phone, he got a new car but neither one of us bought a new house… (I should’ve known then.)
He reached into his pocket and took out a whole wad of crumpled up paper towel. (He had wrapped the box because we were going on water rides.) I was thinking that he was gonna blow his nose cuz he had the snifflies… but no. He ripped into the tissue and I saw a red box. I gasped, looked up at him like a deer caught in headlights saying, “Oh my god, oh my god… ”
He opened the box and said, “Will you marry me?”
I almost cut him off while he was popping the question because I was so eager to respond to tell him “yes” hahaha. We leaned across to hug and kiss. We held hands as we got on one last ride, the huge ferris wheel, before we left the park.
There were no tears, (lots of oh my gods) not because I’m an insensitive fool but because the whole thing completely surprised me. I was in more a state of shock. But on the way home, I had tears completely cheesin’ looking and staring at the ring til’ I got cross-eyed.
The proposal, ring or day couldn’t have been more perfect.

I have not so pretty hands but I did go and get my nails done do bring some justice to the ring.

I love, love, LOVE the detail.

This was with the flash half covered. I thought it was pretty.

And here’s the monkey that witnessed it all - Mr. Snail won it for me. I should name him Cori. Short for Tacori (where Mr. Snail purchased the ring). Hahaha it was Mr. Snail’s suggestion.
