Color Scheme

June 2nd, 2006 @ 4:24 pm by Mrs. Butterfly

I’m meeting with a florist on Monday, but I still have no idea what colors I’m using! Our venue, Twenty-Four Fifth, is very gold/bronze, elegant, with a traditional ballroomesque feel.

I was thinking either ranges of pink with black, lots of white flowers, or very dark orange/tan flowers. However, Mr. Butterfly doesn’t want the wedding theme to be too “thanksgiving-y”.

Do you have any suggestions for colors that’ll go with the decor, and be season appropriate for a November wedding? HELP!!!

Which color scheme do you think best complements the decor?

white flowers with lots of greenery (bright yellow/gold greens) would be spectacular.

Ditto the brown and blue. More precisely, the aqua blue on the tablecloths in the 3rd pic. And maybe with shades of brown, like toffee and dark chocolate. To pep up the fall aspect, you can throw in persimmony (I make nonsense words up) red and golden yellow in your flowers and arrangements, perhaps using some fall leaves too.

I like the blue and brown idea too, but I would also suggest a burgundy/salmon theme. That is what I am using because I didn’t want colors that were so typically fall and “thankgivingy”.
I got my BM dresses from Thread and they are gorgeous and the girls love them. That is where I got the Burgundy/Salmon color scheme from.

i really loved that picture with the violety-blue and white. i think bright colored flowers and white would look just beautiful with the venue.

our wedding is in October, and all my colors are “fall” colors and I love it! Its also very “us” to have deep rich tones…so I really like the idea of doing orange/brown colors and maybe add some golden yellow in there too.
On the other hand, I also really like the idea of having white/cream with lots of greenery. That would look very elegant. Good Luck!

i think mr. butterfly is thinking thanksgiving with orange flowers but the color sounds fine. maybe a brighter orange?

i love the way pink and orange look together.

i’m using a deep purple and trying to stay away from white and baby blue from making everything look too cliche winter wedding. i’m hoping the color scheme in my head will work out with the venue i end up choosing.

What about red? It would look so wonderful and romantic with the champagne/brown tones…I see lots of candles to compliment the red.
