A final note… This image is from Miss Spider’s earlier post on Fete. See how only half the lanterns are lit? I think this makes them even more gorgeous and dramatic. Having all of them lit would be overwhelming.

Wow! Good catch, I never realized that. Our venue offered to hang lanterns, but then informed me they don’t light them…. It never occured to me to but just a FEW lighting packs for the lanterns….
Ikea has very inexpensive lanterns. My apartment in Philadelphia didn’t have any light fixtures, so I hung about 8 lanterns in the center of the room. I found them at Ikea for about $3 - 7 each, and they ranged in size from gigantic to teeny tiny.
I would love to have something like this~ I wonder if it’s possible at my future venue.
This is exactly what I want! I could never find a picture that showed how classy lanterns can be.
