I’ve heard rave reviews about the quality of My Publisher’s book. But at the same time, I’ve also heard that their software can be confusing and their customer service bad.

I don’t know who to believe. What has your experience with My Publisher been like?

I’ve used My Publisher early on and I found the software no problem, but then again, I created my layout in Photoshop and barely used the software. However, I did feel that the quality of the printing isn’t that great, but you get what you pay for.

I ordered a deluxe album and I love it. The paper is thicker for those than the classic, I don’t know how the printing compares but I was pleasantly surprised at how it looked.

I did the same as the others and did my page design outside of the mypublisher software though. I didn’t think their software was confusing, just very limited, especially in terms of fonts.

If you want to see how mine turned out I put the page designs and my notes on how I did it here:

Maybe I wouldn’t have been as happy with it if I had paid for price but with the 50% off I was very happy, and everyone I have shown it to has been very impressed as well.

I JUST used it this past month to create a photobook for me and my boyfriend’s 4 year anniversary. I have rave reviews about it! I uploaded 200+ pictures, and then loaded up the interface. Page layouts are easily changed, and all you have to do is drag the photo you want in the frame. They will even let you know if the photo and frame size don’t match, and they mark which photos you’ve already used. My transaction went smoothly and I recieved the photobook in reasonable time. All the pictures came out exactly the way I thought they would come out (no discoloring whatsoever). So overall I am very happy with my purchase, especially since I had that $15 off any photobook deal from before! I hope that helped.

I used the Mypublisher software for it… and it was kind of a pain in the butt whenever I wanted to change something. Because all the pictures shift every time you add something new. Now that I know to use Photoshop instead, I think the results will be much better.
Print quality was okay. But you have to use good quality pictures to begin with, of course.
Overall, it’s a pretty cool thing to do with all your million digital pictures. Great gift idea too!

I created my guestbook using mypublisher and loved it! I recieved my in one week - fast service. And the quality is great! If you don’t much knowledge in the digital era, it might be harder for you to understand their software and resolution your images. I used photoshop to create all my pages and just dropped them in full bleed edge sheets. It looks great!

Just an FYI - I am a pro photographer and used a 6MP SLR camera and still didn’t think the quality was all that - there was quite a bit of banding - and the color was a little grainy.

But then again, I am probably being picky because I am a photog.

Also, I made the album back in 2005, so they could’ve gotten better with the printing.

I’ve heard good things about the Sony Imagestation books.
