For some reason, I was totally stumped when it came to bridesmaids gifts. I only have two attendants — my sister and my best friend and I was trying to find one present that would work for both of them. My best friend is single, sometimes homebody, sometimes Page 6-worthy casting agent. My sister is a suburban working mother of 3 toddlers, with a penchant for expensive bags and shiny things. Since I also bought their dresses, I didn’t want to spend loads of money, figuring $100 was just about right.
I solved the problem by getting the ladies different presents.
I appealed to my best friend Julia’s homebody side and bought her this funky tea set from the Wedding Things store in Manhattan.

The brand of the tea set is Rosanna; after I bought it at Wedding Things, I found out that I could have bought it for much less from the Seattle-based manufacturer’s website. I considered returning the set and reordering online, but frankly, didn’t have the time. I think Rosanna’s china would also make great shower presents.

I bought my sister a gorgeous mother-of-pearl mirror compact and business card case from Extraordinary, my favorite store for unique gifts on 57th Street between Second and Third Avenues. I’ll post pictures as soon as I remember to snap a few!
