Crossed Keys Inn

June 6th, 2006 @ 1:42 pm by Mrs. Ant

Originally, we had our hearts set on getting married in NJ for sentimental reasons. (We both grew up and first fell in love with each other in the good ol’ Garden State.)

If the Crossed Keys Inn had been available this Fall, we just may have gotten married there. The grounds are so charming and beautiful, it could convince even the stubbornest New Yorker that New Jersey is actually quite lovely. Unfortunately, it was closed this year for renovations.

Good news for newly engaged brides, tho- Crossed Keys Inn will open again in September of 2007. The renovations include a new, large Farmhouse that provides an indoor option for weddings in case of inclement weather.

For a Saturday night wedding:
* 150 - 200 guests
* $125 - 150 p.p. plus tax and gratuity
* $1000 site fee; $1800 with ceremony

One of my favorite details is their Playhouse- perfect for afterparties and just lounging around!

It’s actually $1800 for the site fee with ceremony. Sorry about the typo!

In any case, please check with Crossed Keys Inn for accurate and up to date information.

It is beautiful, but the service was awful (I was married there). SO many mistakes were made, lies told, etc. We left with a pretty sour taste in our mouths because of the lack of integrity and respect.

Still, though, it has a niche … it’s very unqiue and very lovely. Just be forewarned about the owners …
