About Mrs. Spider

$$$ and More $

June 10th, 2006 @ 2:23 pm by Mrs. Spider

Since we got engaged, we’ve been bringing in leftovers for lunch on a pretty regular basis. While I’m not one to be picky about food, eating leftovers from my mini size takeout plastic container (which I wash and reuse) makes me pretty sad. (Mr. Spider on the other hand flaunts his lunch box around the office and brags about how his fiance packed him lunch- must be a guy thing.)

I have also cut down on drinking Starbucks coffee in the morning and have instead been getting my daily caffeine from the office pantry. I try to spruce this substitute coffee up with a dash of French Vanilla powder, which I buy in bulk from BJs and keep small qualities of in a kimchi jar in my desk drawer. *dramatic sigh* This entry is getting sadder by the minute. $$$ and More $ : wedding new york Bummed

Are you feeling a little sad for me too? Are you maybe thinking - what’s Mr. Spider doing about it? Well, let me show you.

$$$ and More $ : wedding new york Bike bike.jpg

Cannondale

What is this you say? This my friends is the new bike Mr. Spider bought himself this week. I’m not going to tell you how much it cost but I will say it cost MORE than my wedding gown.

“OMG, are we really comparing my bike to a dress you’re going to wear for ONE day?” says Mr. Spider.

I told my cousin Flo this today and she said “Well, shit you look damn good it in.” That’s right baby. I do look DAMN good in it. So good in fact, that I only need to wear it ONE day.

So last night while I was slaving over the invitations (after I cooked him dinner and packed our lunch boxes), I looked up and saw him riding the bike in the middle of the living room. He had this intense face and he was breathing heavily, like lamaze type panting.

“What the hell is going on here?” I asked. To which he simply replied “I’m practicing.”

I ask you, how can you be mad at an idiot like that?

My hubby just bought a similar bike. He told me, “Thanks for letting me buy that bike.” And I told him, “Thanks for letting me have that wedding!” :)

Haha, that’s really funny. My bf did the same thing, spent $$ on his bike, to save money from spending $100 a month on public transportation to work. Hey, at least it got his legs and butt looking mighty fine!
We also take multiple to-go containers to work: fruit cups, lunch, carrots/celery, and oatmeal, but it does save us a lot of money.
