A few years back, Mr. Butterfly and I took a mini trip to Miami for our annual summer vacation. We ate at the Blue Door restaurant in the Delano Hotel (a favorite of celebs) and hung out at the bar at the pool.
I fell in love with the Delano and its’ crisp white bungalows.
So for our honeymoon, we are thinking of going and staying at the Delano Hotel (not in the bungalows near the pool, cuz they run $10K a night or something equally ridiculous).
Then, after 3 nights in Miami, we will head over to the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman Islands!!
4 more nights here, then back to reality.
It sounds like a beautiful trip! We won’t be able to go first class all the way - but at least this way, we can get away for a week! I wonder if telling people that you are on your honeymoon will get you upgrades? I hear it all the time - does it work?

Def… our wedding night room at the ritz got upgraded! It never hurts!
def. tell the hotel that you are on your honeymoon. my married friends have used that line & it has worked wonders for them! i can’t wait to use it on mine!!

I absolutely love the Ritz. Among things like luxurious rooms, their service is impeccable. We’re actually looking at the Ritz as a possible venue option. You know you’ll be very well taken care of when you do it at the Ritz. (My bro & his fiancee are having their wedding @ the Ritz too next month. And they have nothing but good things to say about their experience so far).
The Delano is famous.. obviously! Look @ how FABULOUS it is! Definitely want to check it out one day. They also have a hotel in SF, the Clift. I’ve checked out having the wedding there. I LOVE their fabric draped walls & chandeliers! But I think the space might be a bit small. We’ll see.
