No. I've gilded the heads of pins to make sure they looked properly antique. Gilded them. Then coated them in german glass glitter. I am that crazy.

For all my ability to draw straight lines and weave baskets, I do not have the manual dexterity necessary to polish my own nails. Even clear polish somehow ends up way way outside the lines, and I end up looking like the crazy sister in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane.

That is why I love Keiko. (And clearly, I love all of you if I’m actually sharing her contact information with you.) She is the world’s finest manicurist. I swear to god she makes my nails look like the nails in magazines. After a session with her, I have an absolutely perfect manicure — streak/bubble/line-free polish with nary a hangnail. You would never know that I (constantly) bite my cuticles. (Yes, very gross, I know.)

Keiko works at the East Village Branch of Jin Soon. She’s usually there, but she’s easiest to catch on Tuesday afternoons.
