Many wedding videography companies are now offering live webcasts so anyone in the world can be “at your wedding.” Live Internet Weddings charges $400 over the cost of their regular videography services to stream your wedding live on the internet. The webcast is also kept up on their site for 2 weeks for any guest who misses it. Cashman Pro, which serves the Las Vegas area, has been offering webcasting services for three years and even sends out “digital invitations” your guests. (source: nytimes)
Maybe you can’t afford a wedding, or don’t want to deal with everything that goes into planning one. With a webcast wedding, you can have all your friends and family “present” at your ceremony. Or perhaps you’re having a destination wedding where many guests can’t attend, or even an elderly relative who can’t travel. Having a webcasted wedding may just be the next big thing.
What do you think about wedding webcasts? Is it something you’d consider for your own wedding?

I’m having a DW and wish I could do a web-cast for all those (especially grandparents) who can’t make it.
