About Mrs. Bee

Sandy and Mark

July 5th, 2006 @ 8:20 pm by Mrs. Bee

This past Saturday, Mr. Bee and I attended the wedding of my friends Sandy and Mark in the bay area. They set the record for longest wedding we’ve ever attended - 10 hours! They had a slideshow, family members that sang, danced, played instruments, the money dance, karaoke… the works. In fact it was still going on when we left! But Sandy has always been a ball of energy and the wedding definitely had her personal touches.

The Catholic ceremony.

The groom usually carries his mother piggy back, but her skirt was too tight so he improvised and lifted her up in his arms!

This flower motif was carried out through all the stationery. Check out the holding placecards down with a ribbon so they don’t fly away action a-la-Martha Stewart. Favors were chive plants, and watering cans filled with chocolates.

The reception took place in a garden so it was a garden themed wedding.

Veggies topped the garden cake… very cute!

The best part of the wedding was the first dance. Sandy and Mark kept fumbling and she stormed off mid dance. Everyone thought she was mad, but that was all part of the plan. The groomsmen then proceeded to give Mark “lessons” and the bride rushed out to perform the following dance with the groom.

It was a very long and complicated number so they must have put a lot of time into practicing it. And now the happy couple is in Greece enjoying their honeymoon. If there were ever two people made for each other, it’s Sandy and Mark. :)

I like the dress you are wearing at the wedding… you looked so cute and refreshing! Their first dance is cute. My friend who got married in May did a salsa dance for their first dance and I thought that was unique. :o)
