Our invitations are seriously sending me into an early grave. Our apartment looks like Martha Stewart gone wrong. This past July 4th weekend was supposed to be invitation assembly bonanza BUT of course, my indecisive ass decided to throw a monkey wrench into our plans.
For the life of me, I could NOT commit myself to a backing layering which translated into me buying paper left and right and stockpiling packs and rolls in our living room. I told myself I could return what I didn’t use, but of course I had to open one of each style for trial purposes. This only made things worse because then I started opening the cardstock we bought for our enclosure cards. In the end it came down to the three following designs:

The Container Store - Pleasing Paisley Gift Wrap: 5′ x 30″ [$4.25]

The Container Store - Wrap Delight: 5′ x 30″ [$3.99]

Luxe Paperie - Snow & Graham: 20″x30″ [$2.75]
Paper Presentation in store [$7.50 for 2 sheets]
All are beautiful but the first one is too green, the second too colorful and the last not busy enough. Yeah I know, Papa bear, Momma bear and baby bear. Oh wait, baby bear’s shit was “just right.” Well, you get the point. Through it all, my heart was still lingering on another design. This one perfect pink and brown print I saw in the window of Paper Presentation:

Making Memories - Pink Silk Scarf: 12″x12″ Cardstock - $.99 each
The hiccup about this paper is that it’s scrapbooking cardstock and is pricey considering I can only get 3 pieces of backing layer from every 12″x12″ sheet. Call me crazy but $50 is a lot to spend on backing layer.
So I fought back and forth and finally decided to use the Green Paisley pattern, which meant I had to go exchange my green enclosure cardstock for pink cardstock. So there I had it - brown pocketfold, green backing layer and pink enclosure cards - perfect right? Haha, come on, it’s ME we’re talking about here. Of course it wasn’t perfect. I wanted my Pink Silk Scarf.
So I scoured the friggin web for a cheaper price and after dealing with not-enough-stock; back-ordered-stock; and canceled-order-fiasco, I finally found a website that had a “backup” stash. As of yesterday, the stash was making its way from some warehouse to my retailer and I am anxiously awaiting confirmation that the paper will be shipped out today by 2nd day air. The end price? $.65 a sheet. What am I gonna do with the $17.50 I’m saving you ask? I’m going to frame it as a reminder of how friggin C-R-A-Z-Y I am. Lord.
