About Mrs. Spider

Limos

July 7th, 2006 @ 1:53 pm by Mrs. Spider

This task has really stumped me. We are putting the wedding party up at a hotel the night before the wedding, since we all need to be up and ready by the butt crack of dawn. Our ceremony and reception are at the same hall, so really we only need limos for the ride from the hotel to the hall. That ride is about half an hour. Factor in some picture time of me sprawled all over the limo and maybe we need them at most 2 hours.

I’ve been told that we don’t need to be responsible for arranging the wedding party’s ride home from the wedding but this doesn’t sit well with Mr. Spider. He thinks we should get one limo for the girls only and the guys will drive several cars to ensure that everyone has a ride back later. I kinda want the guys to be able to ride in the limo as well. So now the question is, should I get a separate limo for the guys? Or should the entire wedding party (14 ppl) sit together?

The latter option doesn’t sit well with me because I am not thrilled with the idea of sitting in the limo, in my dress, next to Mr. Spider, on the way to our wedding. How odd will that be? Will we chit chat? Will we hold hands? When we get to the hall and go our separate ways, will we just be like - “Peace out homey, see ya later down the aisle?”

Anyhow, a friend of mine told me about this really great website Limos.com. You plug in a few details about what you need, and they send you an email with instant quotes. My friend found a vendor through this website and because of engine problems with the limo she booked, got a free upgrade to a Hummer limo. Niiiiccceee.

Oh no don’t ride with him to the wedding. You know it will kind of take away from his shock seeing you start down the aisle. The part I look forward to the most is Mr. Kellie’s expression when he sees me start down the aisle in my wedding dress. It’s just such an emotional moment that I know he’ll always remember.

Mr. Bee and I took pictures around the city before the wedding so we arrived together.

How bout renting one limo for the gals and a snazzy car? The guys can ride to the venue in the snazzy car, and you can use it later as your wedding car.

One thing to beware… almost everyone’s limo is late - number one complaint I hear from brides. Ours was over an hour late! Honestly I’d book them an hour earlier than you really need them since you probably have to book them for a minimum number of hours anyway. Better safe than sorry.
