Reader RM recently wrote us and suggested that I give away the samples I receive from vendors. I think it’s a great idea!
I’m giving away these matches and candles I received recently from 2pyromaineiacs. As cute as they are, I’m sure a bride-to-be would put them to better use than I would. 
But being utterly uncreative, I can’t think of a good contest. I’d like to come up with something that’s fair, that I could use over again, and it’d be great if the contest were fun too.
Do you have any suggestions?
maybe to the entry with most comments? most viewed or discussed entry? i don’t know if you have a separate tracker on these entries.
Um…maybe the weirdest posts? The most posts in a certain time period? Let the readers vote on the best post of the week or a certain time period?
Let me clarify… I want to give this away to a reader and not the weddingbees. =)

Perhaps to a reader who you feel has contributed much to the weddingbee site by way of feedback or useful/helpful comments or suggestions? More of a goodwill token. I just feel like weddings are already so competitive & brides are always trying to prove something and beat one another 
you should do something silly… like who can come up with the best haiku about wedding matches or best made-up scenario for using the matches…
a writing contest in a wedding or love theme… like a paragraph on their dream wedding sans spending limit or how they met their man… something like that.
I don’t know…best submitted DIY idea. That would probably work the best. My thoughts on the most comments thing would be that people, in a bridezilla rage, would start spamming with comments like “first!!!!” and “I just really want matches!” over and over.
If we figure out the contest, I have things to give away too! E.g. the things I’ve been hauling around from the Wedding Salon gift bag!
I like the best DIY idea too. That would really contribute to the community of brides here. And it could be a continuous thing … each week a prize or something for the best contribution that week…voted by the bees here.

I am loving the DIY idea so much…only hating it 
because I can’t participate and you all know I am all over some DIY!!!
But this is a great way for me to pick up some new tips perhaps — I say bring on the best DIY!!!!!
I like both the DIY and the Haiku idea… creativity and sillyness are both good things!

It’s nice to win things sometimes by luck of the draw.
Maybe you could do it by wedding date so those of us who are getting married so those who have a wedding in the month of july and august can enter to win these gifts until August 10 and then it goes to August -September.
I think the DIY is a good idea. That way other brides can feed off on ideas from other brides. Let the creativity juices flow!
