Flowers Finalized

July 10th, 2006 @ 10:03 am by Mrs. Spider

So this Saturday Mr. Spider and I went back to Flowers by Brian and Flower Michele to see samples and make our final decision.

Our first stop was Flowers by Brian where we were greeted with this:

While the flowers were not completely open and the arrangement a little too spaced out for my taste, I was pretty happy with the sample. We told our coordinator that we’d think about it and get back to her. Then we went down the street to Flower Michele.

As Mr. Spider pulled open the door to the shop, I caught a glimpse of the most gorgeous arrangement and immediately both my hands went straight up to my mouth. That’s when the gasping and “oh-my-godding” began. We walked in slowly and as it hit me that this was in fact the sample that John had arranged for me, I felt so overcome with joy and excitement I almost cried.

Between my 10th and 11th “OH MY GOD”, John walked out of the back room and I had to fight the urge to bum rush him and hug the shit out of him. My voice got all high pitched and I think I was actually jumping up and down and John turns to Mr. Spider and says “Oh my god, is she really going to cry?” He had the biggest smile on his face and you could tell, his happiness came from making a bride happy. How could I not book him right there? Ok enough talking from me, feast your eyes on this:

I want green apples and John made a trip that morning to pick up apples for me, but he forgot about the green and got red. He was kicking himself for getting the wrong color which of course, made me love him even more. I swear other than my dress, seeing this sample and booking John was the most fulfilling, emotional and happy moment of my wedding planning thus far.

Absolutely gorgeous! (BTW, I love how you get so worked up about flowers! I’m afraid I just can’t get that into them, usually.)

I’m pleasantly surprised! I thought red apples with pink flowers would look monotonous… but no, it’s gorgeous! the green hues on the ends of the apples make it work. entirely green apples would also be beautiful. your centerpieces are going to be FABULOUS!
