I met the lovely designer Tara Boone through my Ladies Who Launch meetings. Tara designs cosmetic bags, handbags, wallets and travel duffels in fun colorful prints. But my favorite fabric she carries is actually the sponged silver leather which has a gorgeous, super soft, distressed quality to it (I’ve seen the bag in person).

Tara’s work has been featured in New York’s high-end department stores, Daily Candy, countless fashion magazines, and tv programs. Her make-up bags and travel duffels would make wonderful gifts for bridesmaids or the bride-to-be!

these would make fantastic bridesmaids gifts!
speaking of which, how much do normal brides spend on bridesmaids gifts? do they usually spend the amount the dress costs or do they just buy what they think they’ll like? do you buy the same thing for each girl or same thing but different colors or something different all together.

i just want my bridesmaids to feel appreciated and so i thought i’d ask you! what did you get your bridesmaids? (and groomsmen)

Hi Yeh-eun,

I spent about $150-$200 per bridesmaid/groomsmen and also paid for their attire, hair and makeup. i got two bridesmaids ipod shuffles and itunes giftcards, another $200 worth of make-up, and the groomsmen got a cigar club of the month or wine club of the month.

hi! I just came back from my honeymoon and saw this - this is so funny - I used the weekender bag on my honeymoon! my husband and I were touring Spain and didn’t want to bring heavy luggage that we had to check on every flight (6 in all), so I used this which was so roomy to include everything I needed to take and I was able to buy lots of stuff and pack it even more on the way home — by the way, I then did check it on the flight home and of course it was so easy to spot at the baggage claim against a sea of black bags(I have the weekender with the stripes) — Buy the bag!!
