Marriage as a Commitment

July 12th, 2006 @ 11:28 am by Mrs. Bee

I followed mecha_groomzilla’s blog while he was planning his Hawaiian wedding last year. I was so impressed with how much love, time, and planning he put into his wedding - let’s be honest, it’s pretty rare for guys to be super invested in wedding planning. So when I read his post today about his marriage breaking up 6 months after his perfect wedding, I was truly sad for him.

He has some great words of advice he wants to share with other engaged couples out there, that puts the chaos of wedding planning into perspective. We’re so sorry Michael and wish you luck in everything you do.

I would have rather had a terrible wedding day and a wonderful marriage. Instead, I got the opposite.

OMG — I am actually crying over this…how terrible for this poor man.

Reading his new blog is even more touching and sad.

I am posting his words to all my blogs now, because they are definitely words to the wise….

I totally remember his love of detail when planning the entire wedding. The pictures, the words he chose. I know he will heal his heart one day and once again take the time and devotion to plan another beautiful wedding.

It is really sad what happened in their marriage. There’s always two sides to a story though. I don’t know either one of the couple so I can’t say, but I stumbled upon his ex’s site and nothing online is as it seems. His advice is still good for everyone to consider though.

He made me break down in tears.

What is so bad that after a relationship of six years cannot be worked out?

There are only two things, and they are the unspeakable.
