Loving Your Dress

July 18th, 2006 @ 3:03 pm by Mrs. Bee

Miss Grasshopper wrote a post below about her wedding dress doubts. Shopping for a dress is one of the first things you do when you start planning your wedding. It was definitely one of the best parts of wedding planning for me - you get caught up in the excitement and really feel like a bride when you’re in a wedding dress.

So you find “the dress” and buy it, but you don’t get to see it for at least another 4 months. Then you start seeing dresses you might like more and wonder if you will love “the dress” as much as when you first bought it. I know of many brides that had such dress doubts.

Do you still love your dress?

when i started dress shopping i had some ideas of what i wanted but didn’t know until i tried on THE dress, that it would be the one i’d wear. there’s so many pretty dresses out there that catch my eye but i think i’m better off sticking to the one i bought. i got other wedding planning to do! lol

I guess I got lucky or blocked out the idea of “what if there is another dress out there?” since I bought it off the rack at Bloomie’s for less than $500 but overall, I still love it~ ;o)

I boomeraged — loved at first, then doubted, then was ambiguous, and on the day of LOVED LOVED LOVED.

as for ms. grasshopper, the store musta lied, buying in february should be absolutely fine for a september wedding. very very few dresses take more than 4 months.

well, i still love my dress, i think… anyway, it’s a lot of effort in stopping myself from looking at those gowns whenever i pass by any bridal shops! gah!!!

i’ll be only getting my dress fitted in september, that’s like almost a year ago when i chose the dress. heh self-hypnotising helps at times like this. :)

Can I vote once it comes in and I try it on again? It’s been a while… I hope it’s still the one!

Though, I know someone who bought a new one (Monique Lhiullier, no less) the week of her wedding. No joke, it fit perfectly in the store’s sample size, and she bought it off the rack from them.
