In today’s beehive, Michelle has a question about a traditional Italian wedding song and Italian wedding traditions, and B’s fiance has forbade her to invite her male friend who says he was the one who introduced them.

Please add your question to the beehive! :)

My fiance’s stepmom is Italian and in their family it’s traditional to have a cookie tray. I’m not Italian, so I don’t know if that is a common custom, but it sure is a delicious one!

Well, B, I’m having the same problem. I’m just going to tell him that it’s a very small wedding, only very close friends and family, which is true. You could always say you have a very strict number you are going to invite, and you’re pushing it already. Why is your fiance having problems with this guy? Maybe HE should tell him instead of YOU. It’ll solve your problem, and you won’t have to get involved.

I agree with Amber.
If your FI has a problem with that, he should be made to take care of it…

I don’t understand why he wouldn’t want that guyfriend to be there though…

I agree with Amber. Let your FI do the explaining then. But if YOU must be the one informing the male friend, just tell him it’s a very small wedding. How close are you with this friend anyway? If he’s not that close to you, I don’t see why he EXPECTS to be invited (EVEN IF he IS the one who introduced you two).

Wow, talk about jealous? And he introduced them, so obviously he’s not after her…jeez.

Question for the beehive:

Anybody know where i can find a Korean-speaking officiant (non-denominational) AND a Korean DJ in the NYC area? Fiance and i are both obviously Korean and of different religion. Please help!

question for the beehive: is it possible to clean your engagement ring too much? i use a soft toothbrush, 1 part windex, 4 parts purified water and let it soak for about 30 minutes before a light brushing and rinse. i figured it’s ok to do once a week, but i get obsessive and sometimes clean it every couple days…just wanted to know if anyone had any insight on that.

Question for the beehive:

I was married about a month ago, and I am experiencing some post-wedding blues. I feel like no one ever talks about the frustration a bride experiences when things do not go exactly as planned… And I spent a year meticulously planning them. 90% of my day was fabulous, but a few things really threw me for a loop on my big day. I am still angry about them, actually. And now I sort of feel sad, when I know I should be just thrilled to me married! I can’t shake it. Any thoughts?

m- as far as i know, what your doing will not harm your ring. is it a pave ring? that’s the only kind that can be delicate. i also recommend using an ultrasonic cleaner-sharper image makes one. the US cleaners aren’t recommended for pave though. but your recipe works perfect in the US cleaner. I use it nearly every day to clean mine and it works beautifully!

BEEHIVE QUESTION:
Who gets tipped at the wedding and how much should you tip?
(My caterer is already adding a 20% service fee btw)
Thanks!

Your wedding coordinator should get a tip if you have one, I also tipped a woman who assisted at my reception site and the pastor. Of course, the bartenders also got tipped.

Thanks for the advice! Actually, the wedding is large (Chinese weddings, not my choice) - 200 people and pushing it (starting to worry about fitting into the space, actually). Was close to the friend for awhile, but not since I picked up on FI’s dislike. The friend can be obnoxious - not sure what he did exactly to push FI’s buttons. Anyways, I’ll let FI deal with it!

MM - have you read the book “The Conscious Bride”? I read about it in Oprah - might be helpful.

Question -
I’m currently shopping for a hair and make-up artist in the NYC and NJ area. Any good suggestions?
