Say It With a Gem

Boys, if you really want to give your lady the royal treatment, give her a ring with a colored gem.

I’ve always loved Lady Di’s engagement ring. My mom is a big fan of her, and my dad actually bought her a reproduction of the ring (to wear on her right hand) for her birthday one year. As a now-only child, guess who inherits it?!

Traditionally, engagement rings were stones like rubies, sapphire and emeralds. It’s only in the last century or so that diamonds came to be the “often recognized” center stone. Colored stones as e-rings are more classic, but unfortunately not so common in the US. In other countries, they are- and more so!

I have often been told that I resemble Jackie. The other day I learned that she had an emerald engagement ring. I have been wearing mine for almost four years now! What a wonderful connection!
