Open Question: LED Candles

July 25th, 2006 @ 1:32 pm by Mrs. Bee

Hi Bees,

Any thoughts on rechargable candles? I went to a restaurant recently that had soft glowing light coming from beautiful little candle holders at each table. When I peeked inside, I was surprised to see that it was a small flickering led light! Since this is relatively new, I was wondering if any other brides have had experience using this as an alternative to candles at their wedding… especially at a venue that does not allow candles.

Thank you. Your website keeps me entertained and well-informed as always.

From,

Christine

I’ve never seen them used in weddings I’ve attended, but it’s definitely an excellent idea for venues that don’t allow candles!

My brother was looking into an aquarium that didn’t allow candles, and this would have been the perfect solution. They’re also pretty darn affordable!

This is probably best answered on Indie Bride. They have a lot of brides who have bought and used the same thing. They can probably tell you where to buy them cheap or even sell you theirs.

I’ve seen them and used them at various events and functions. It’s a great alternative, particularly for outdoor weddings and gatherings. No need to worry about wind or fire!

I think they’re a fantastic idea–maybe try clustering a bunch of them together? Oooh or you could nest them among the flowers (silk or real). I would put them wherever real candles are impractical–I bet it’ll be beautiful!!!

Mrs. Ladybug actually wrote about flameless candles a few months ago. I have one of those anal reception sites so I saved the link

She gives a direct link to froogle where they can be found.

thanks babes! i never thought about renting the LED candles.. i could probably hide them inside of frosted candle holders/vases. you could also use these for the martha-inspired paper luminaries to line a pathway or something.
