My friend is having a Winter Wonderland themed wedding. What would be good wedding favors?

Vi - If it’s not too expensive, how about souvenir-sized snowglobes?

i was thinking about having the main flower in my bouquet and everyone else’s bouquets with daisies. is that weird?? i’m just wondering if it’s formal enough but i suppose my dress would be simple….. what do you guys think??

One cute favor I’ve seen is getting an insulated cup and then putting the following items in it: a pack of hot cocoa, individual bags of marshmellows (they come out with these around Christmas time), some hershey kisses, and a candy cane. Then you wrap it up in cellophane or tissue paper. Perhaps a little to DIY, but people seem to enjoy it.

Vi,
I went to a winter wedding and they gave out clear snowflake ornaments with a ribbon hanger that matched the wedding colors. They were inexpensive but very cute. It hangs on my Christmas tree now!

I like the ornament idea or how about sugar cookies with some type of snowflake design on top?

Hi gals (and guys)

I have a question for the Beehive too.

After reading Miss Grasshopper’s post on Why We Pick Our BMs, I want to get your opinions on something that has been on my mind for a while. My wedding is going to be very small (about 50-75 peeps @ most). Is having 4 BMs too many for such a small wedding? The reason is because I already have 3 gals (two Matrons of Honor and one BM.) I really want to make my new SIL a BM too since we’re pretty close. But I’m worried 4 looks too weird for the size of the event. What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

Hi J - sorry your question didn’t get posted earlier - must have slipped by. =)

What’s most important is that you have the people you want by your side on your big day. Each person means something to you and you want them there for a reason. And it’s a very nice gesture to ask your sil - i’m sure she’ll really appreciate being asked.

I don’t think 4 bridesmaids is too many at all. =)

What’s the best way to check whether a vendor is legit? I’m just about to contract with a vendor that so far have only communicated with online and so, I wanted to check out the vendor’s reputation. The vendor’s not listed with the Better Business Bureau. Other sources?

Mrs Bee,

I’ve decided to save my family’s “face” by having Remy Martins as favors. But I want to use the bottles to hold placecards. How??? I don’t know. So far I have two options: 1. tie a tag on the bottle neck with the guest’s name and table number, but I don’t want guests to lean over and knock over other bottles; 2. use a tag sticker, but then will it destroy the bottle’s esthetics? I need creative ideas!!!

Thanks a lot!!!

arbela, the best thing you can do is ask the vendor for at least 3 references. Contact all of them and find out what other brides’ experiences were with the vendor.

When I was checking references for some of my vendors, the brides were so helpful and their opinions and reviews were very important when I made my decisions.

newcomer, you could always place the remy bottles at each place setting with placecards on them and have guests find their seats by looking at a seating chart. this way you won’t have to worry about guests leaning over or knocking bottles over.

we did a seating chart at our wedding with placecards at each place setting and it worked out quite well!

hope this helps = good luck!

Hi Girls,

I have a question about wedding jobs. What kind of jobs are out there for someone who wants to get into it? I am not engaged yet but I read this site religiously and I think it would be fun to have a wedding related job. I enjoy DIY projects and favors a lot. Is there such a thing as an assistant to a something other than a wedding planner (too stressful in my opinion). Is there a site that offers wedding related jobs?
Thanks!

You should look into a job with a stationery or invitation designer — you might enjoy projects such as creating escort cards, programs, etc or assisting with the design process creating the overall look and feel for the wedding. Or you might enjoy working with a floral designer — that’s very creative!
