Instead of the more popular Qi Pao:

I am going to be wearing a Kwan Qua during the tea ceremony:

A family friend is securing a super fancy one for me from Hong Kong. I also wanted my mom and Mr. Spider’s mom to wear Kwan Quas, but our family friend expressed some reluctance in having to secure 3 dresses. So my mom found some rentals from Highlight Studios. The one she likes, unfortunately, is a small and both she and Mr. Spider’s mom are mediums. So Carol, the owner, said she would have two brand new mediums sent over from Hong Kong. The rentals are $180 each. Again, I totally feel like I am getting SPANKED by this place.

wow.. i didn’t realize it came in other colors from the bright red.. I have the same style in the bright red.. my grandma bought it for me from Hk.. but darn!! $180!! I should rent out mines!!

i have a kwan qua that i’m wearing for the wedding too!! an aunty’s friend is loaning it to me. apparently it’s a very chinese thing to loan it to other people so they don’t mind loaning it to me. i think if i had to rent one for $180, i’d be quite annoyed!!

that is a lovely color and design…
