r - how do you usually shape your eyebrows? wax? threading? plucking? i highly recommend threading. i’ve been doing it for over a year - its only 7 dollars per session, and they are actually very good about shaping your eyebrows to your natural shape. the place is called eyebrow express - and they have 2 locations in the city. one on the upper east side, and one near 34th street.

Tell me more about threading! Does it hurt!? What do you tell them when you go in?

I just converted from waxing to threading and I am never turning back. It hurts though! I wasn’t expecting it to hurt so much. I thought, “it’s string, how much could it hurt”? Well it hurts. But if you wax you will make it through. The hairs grow in finer and slower IMO after threading and they are able to shape the brow much better.

I really like Sephora–Anastasia Brow Studio. The one on 5th Ave. They do a consistenly good job and it is so easy to get an appointment.

I go to the owner of V-Salon (Susie) on Elizabeth St in Chinatown for eyebrow threading. I’ve been going for a few years now and she does a great job. The number of girls going to her has increased over the years. She charges $8.

I get my eyebrows threaded also. I love it. I get it done it New Hyde Park for fairly cheap. It cost $12 for reshaping/shaping your eyebrows for the 1st time, and $6 afterwards when you come in to maintain it. Its called ‘Threading Style’ and located on Northern Blvd.

Does anyone know of any good ceremony sites on Long Island near Westbury? I’m having my reception at Westbury Manor but they can’t accomodate us for the ceremony :(

I was actually wondering if anyone knows of a craft store in Manhattan. I want to pick out ribbons for my programs and to go around my cake. I know you can order online, but I def want to be able to see the exact color.

Tristan — how do you define “cute” for rehearsal dinner invites? Cheesy poem (”Before X and Y can walk down the aisle, we must get together for a quick wedding trial…”)? Fun clipart? I submitted our DIY rehearsal dinner invite in the giveaway contest (see entry right below this one) — cute clipart, leftover wedding invite paper, and fonts from specialtyfonts.com (free!)… Hope that helps somewhat!

All the websites offering web hosting that we’ve reviewed (eweddings, weddingwindows, etc.) are beautiful, but appear to be “cookie cutters.” We are trying to create a unique website from scratch and need some inspiration. Does anyone have suggestions or sample websites? THANKS!!
