My fiance has better taste in wedding dresses than I do. Sad, but true. I’m not sure if the disparity is due to his heightened fashion awareness from growing up in various cities and attending college in NYC… or due to my lack of fashion sense from being a big dork, attending an Institute of Technology, and surrounding myself with scientists who wear “Got DNA?” T-shirts. Probably a combination of both.
So of course I took Mr. Ant dress shopping with me! At first, he didn’t think it was such a good idea… until he saw pictures of dresses that I was considering. Then he understood just how much I needed him, my beloved Fashion Policeman, to rescue me from heinous fashion crimes!
Just so you get an idea of the fashion crimes he’s rescued me from…

You can’t even truly appreciate the extent of my crime from this photo. My hair was actually in spirals- spirals! Think Shirley Temple… with a rose garden in her hair. *shiver*

This photo was the true inspiration for my wedding’s blue and orange color theme. Just kidding! Kidding.. But isn’t it scary how I am more orange than the Blue Man is blue?!
With Advice from Mr. Ant (Paris, 2005)
He actually picked out this beautiful tweed coat for me. At first, I was concerned that it wasn’t orange. (Can you tell it’s my favorite color? 
) But he introduced me to the idea that I should pair orange with neutrals. Ding-ding-ding. Epiphany!
Thank you for always being there to rescue me, whether it’s from traffic, strange men, or even myself! Not only are you my favorite Fashion Policeman, you are my Favorite Person! Ever.

Yeah *wearing name badge that reads- Fashion Victim* my honey is better at that than me too. BUT I can pick his clothes out and he looks great. But mine, forget it. He shops for me. hee hee
Just curious… what month in 2005? We were there in January (I remember that cloth on the Arc since they were remodeling it.)

actually in my dress hunt i reached a point where i wanted my fiance to come with me because i didn’t like anything i tried on. and even after i found the dress. i still showed him a picture. heh.

mr. bee came to kleinfeld and saks with me when i was trying on dresses. i’m not that superstitious anyway, and i trust his opinion. =)

You guys look so adorable! Too cute! I’m lucky just like you :-). I love the fact that my fiance is my fashion advisor too. He has very good taste and knows what looks good (or not) on me. And most of all, I’m damn lucky that he doens’t mind spending forever in a store shopping with me at all. Cheers to our awesome fiances :-).
P.S. And oh.. I actually thought that you look very cute in your prom pic. No faux paus there.

And as for your poll…I’m going to let my fiance come with me dress shopping. I’m not one to believe superstitions or all that…and I want his input, because he’s the most honest person that I know…including my girlfriends! So I know I can take his word if something looks good…or horrible!
