Never Been Kissed

August 6th, 2006 @ 3:12 pm by Mrs. Ant

From Cudge.net’s blog:

“You may now kiss the bride” is going to a whole new level with Stephanie Harasyn and JJ LaBouliere.

The 20-year-olds met as high school juniors about four years ago, began dating just before starting college and got engaged last year. They’re best friends and soul mates and are deeply in love, but they have never done one thing most couples do: kiss.

They will for the first time July 30, when they exchange their vows.

Read on in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Wow! Maybe I’m dirty-minded, though–the article made me think of Pretty Woman. “She didn’t kiss either–so what?” lol :-P

My boyfriend and I are saving the kiss for the “you may now kiss the bride” as well.. though I’ve tried sometimes to talk him out of it!

omg. i think i would die waiting that long. i always kiss on the first date just because i strongly believe that you know if that relationship is going to work on that feeling you get when you kiss.

Earlier jokes aside, I really am a big proponent of getting to know your partner before jumping into a legal arrangement with them–Jeff and I have been living together since January just because we wanted to make sure we were compatible on a day-to-day basis. We were already engaged when we started living together, but hadn’t been engaged for very long at that point.

It seems to me that it’s really better for both parties if you’re familiar with yourself as a person as well as your partner before getting married–I’m not against abstinence if that’s your personal decision but it seems to make much more sense to know that you’re compatible with someone before marrying them–sex is such a huge part of a successful and fulfilling marriage, it doesn’t seem to make much sense to go into it being completely unaware of your partner’s nature on that matter.

But again that’s just me, not trying to inflict my beliefs on anyone else or tell them how to act. :)

I couldn’t imagine marrying someone that I’ve never kissed, that sounds insane to me. Cause by the time me and my fiance get married it will almost be 10 years together. If we never even kissed–yikes!

Wow! I wouldn’t have made it. I could probably do the whole waiting till thing but no kissing. I LOVE to kiss. I wonder if they have ever kissed anyone else.

I’m what you would call, a late bloomer. He’s been my first real relationship, too. But when you find the right one, I guess you just know. Most of my friends say I still need to date around, and that I haven’t “kissed my share of frogs”…but A is the ONE, and I know. I’m his first real relationship, too. Destiny is a wonderful thing, and I’m actually GLAD I didn’t date a bunch of losers.

this is interesting, but they are so young! i would have given them extra props if they dated from the time they were juniors in hs and were married around the time they were 26-28….and never kissed!

Mrs. Harris–I actually believe I’ve heard of another couple doing that. Read about it several months ago; not sure I can find it now… But IIRC the couple were in their late 20s and had only held hands (no kissing, no hugging, no nookie) until the day they got married.

oh wow…i need a kiss when he gets to my house, before he leaves me, and 10 times in between! and i don’t think that precludes us from “having good times together.”

Believe me, my boyfriend and I have figured out we’re compatible. Just ’cause we don’t kiss (or anything else for that matter) doesn’t mean that we don’t have sex drives. We talk about it a lot.
