Spam and Posting

August 7th, 2006 @ 6:19 pm by Mrs. Bee

After being good for a couple months, our spam filter is acting up again! If you leave a comment and it doesn’t immediately go through, please let me know by commenting on any one of my posts (all comments are automatically emailed to me), and I’ll clear it from the spam folder. Sorry for any inconvenience!

I also have a question about posting times for weddingbee readers. All posts are scheduled to go live at regular intervals throughout the day - it’s a very calculated process and we can’t deny that we want to maximize your weddingbee addiction. ;) The first post usually goes live around 8:30 am and the last one goes live around 5:30 pm. What I’m trying to do is determine the best posting schedule…

Would you prefer if we scheduled posts throughout the entire day and night (perhaps til midnight for instance), but with greater intervals between each post or would you prefer if we kept the current posting schedule?

When/How often do you check weddingbee?

It’s about the ONLY thing entertaining to read while I’m stuck here at work. ;)

These polls are going to be biased because it won’t account for the readers who aren’t as participatory or who miss this poll since they don’t visit as often

For example, readers who “read through my email subscription” may not click on the link to vote on the poll.

Miss Ant has a good point! I, um, refresh ALL the time. It’s one of the best things that I get me through the workday.

that’s ok because they read posts in one sitting or every once in awhile, so when we post wouldn’t really affect them. but I updated the poll to include “once a day.” I’m interested in finding out what time of the day people are reading to see whether or not we should adjust our posting schedule (later, earlier, etc.)

I just want to say that I love this site, and I love how frequent the posts have been lately - amazing, and a great work distraction!

it’ll be obsessively thru out the day cos i’m living in Malaysia. my nights are ur days, so i figured thru out my days, there’ll be no posting cos it only makes sense that u guys are sleeping and hence, no posting….. uh, right?

anyway, u can’t go wrong with posting “obsessively thru out the day” :)

I like the posts sprinkled throughout the day. It keeps it interesting when you have a few minutes to allow for distractions, rather than 30 straight minutes of pure weddingbee reading.

I actually check through a blog complier, so I get the updates when they come in, but only read them right away if I have time. That means I may go a couple of days without reading, but then, I may have a slow work day and check obsessively.

I read it through a blog complier too- bloglines. I know bloglines checks for updates from all the blogs I read (about 100!) about once an hour. Any website with updates shows up big and bold until I get the chance to read it, but I usually read all of the weddingbee posts as soon as I see them in my folder.
