Writing Featured Weddings

August 7th, 2006 @ 4:28 pm by Mrs. Bee

When I started writing up the Featured Wedding: Sarah and Adam* post below, I took the information Sarah had given me and turned it into a magazine-like story. Midway through writing the post however, I realized that I was doing it all wrong. Weddingbee is not like your typical wedding magazine. Hearing the story straight from the bride herself felt very “weddingbee,” so that’s what we decided to do. :P

Which would you prefer - magazine style narrative or the bride’s point of view?

~~~
*The featured bride is none other than Sarah Garfunkel who’s helping to organize the Brides Against Breast Cancer bridal gown event. If you have any questions about her wedding or her vendors, or are interested in the event, please feel free to contact her directly at sarahgarfunkel@yahoo.com.
I liked how it was told from the Bride’s point of view. It’s more personal and interesting that way! :)
I like Bride’s POV. Makes it more realistic, and has the feelings coming straight from the Bride’s mouth. :)
Definitely bride’s view! Or even a groom’s view- haha it’d be interesting to hear how a groom remembers his wedding day!
Good call, Bee. =o)
I think its such a good idea to have it written in the bride’s point of view Not everyone is a writer but its so nice to hear it from the actual person instead of having it all perfect in the words of an editor
Definitely the brides point of view!!! You get the “inside scoop” then with things that might not otherwise stand out.
