Open Question: Groom’s Trivia

August 8th, 2006 @ 10:45 am by Mrs. Bee

Dear Weddingbee,

The bridal shower that the rest of the bridesmaids and I are throwing for our friend won’t be big on games, but we did want to incorporate one game where we ask the groom a bunch of questions pertaining to the bride and their relationship beforehand and see how many answers the bride will get right. I was hoping the rest of the Weddingbee community could provide us with some really good (and tough!) questions we could ask. We need your help!

Thanks,

Amy

I don’t have any good question ideas (sorry!) but I just wanted to say that sounds so cute! Definitely going to have to try that myself for some future shower!

Ok, here are a few I’ve seen used in the past:
1. What is the groom’s favorite band/singer?
2. What is the groom’s dream job?
3. If the groom could be any animal what would he be?
4. What does the groom love most about the bride?
5. What would the groom say is the bride’s best feature?
6. What did the groom wear on their first date?
7. How old was the groom when he had his first kiss?
Good luck, this is always a fun game! Think of questions the Newlywed Game would use…

a fun thing we did with my friend’s shower… we asked both the groom and the bride sep times the same exact questions and then compared the answers. :) it was funny how some were right on the money but others were TOTALLY off :)

depending on how many questions they get wrong… they could have a mouth full of gum :)

You can ask them questions about things they did together: What was their first movie together? First restaurant? Where was their first kiss?

I don’t know about that game…I mean, we pretty much know EVERYTHING about each other…and I remember everything….I’m like an elephant!

I guess that’s why I’ll make a good lawyer.

1. What was the groom’s or the bride’s most embarrassing moment?

2. Multiple choice question. Out of 3 or 4 choices, groom or the bride has to pick one false thing about their future spouse. For example, a. the groom has been to 49 states, b. he is afraid of spiders, c. he was born in Canada, d. he loves pizza. So the bride has to guess one that is NOT true.

This is a common bridal shower game among my friends. We make a multiple-choice quiz that everyone fills out. However, before the shower, we videotape the fiance in an “interview” format. Then, we ask the bride-to-be the same questions at the shower and then play the videotape back with her fiance’s answers.

I just threw my sister’s shower on Sunday and we played a version of this game. I asked the groom 21 questions about himself and then had my sister try to answer them. If she got it wrong she had to chew a piece of bubble yum. Needless to say she only got 9 right, so she had quite a bit of gum in her mouth.

We incorporated the guests by having them guess how well the bride knew the groom. We allowed 2 people per number of right questions and awarded prizes to the winners.

Questions were:
1. What was the groom’s first car?
2. If the groom could meet one famous person, who would it be?
3. What is the groom’s favorite book?
4. What is the groom’s favorite car?
5. What is the groom’s favorite junk food?
6. What is the groom’s favorite movie?
7. What is the groom’s favorite song?
8. Who is the groom’s named after?
9. What is the groom’s favorite TV show?
10. What was the groom’s first job?
11. What is the groom’s most prized possession?
12. If the groom were home alone for an evening, what would he feed himself for dinner?
13. What is the groom’s favorite leisure time activity?
14. What was the groom’s favorite toy as a kid?
15. When the groom was little, what did he want to be when he grew up?
16. How old was the groom when he had his first kiss?
17. What is the groom’s dream vacation destination?
18. What is the groom’s favorite restaurant?
19. What was the groom’s first pet’s name?
20. What is the groom’s favorite sports team?
21. Boxers or Briefs?
