Slipper Options

August 16th, 2006 @ 10:56 am by Mrs. Butterfly

There seems to be a trend on Weddingbee towards feet and feet related products lately. I might as well jump on the bandwagon!

I’ve been researching ideas on the slippers for my slipper basket. I have no idea what people usually buy in these situations, but I know that I don’t really want those Chinese slippers that everyone wears. I figure I only need 30 pairs, so I thought I would splurge just a bit.

Here are some options that I came up with.

Option 1

I found them at Amazon for $4.89 per pair!
The girls who wear these could take them home afterwards, and totally wear them again. The only drawback? It’s a fleece type of material. Although my wedding will be in late fall…..

Option 2

What about these flip flops?
They are also at Amazon for $5.99 per pair.

Please vote!! Or, send me a link for other nice slippers/flip flops please~! Hmmm - perhaps I should have sent in this question to the beehive. :)

Which do you like better?

How bout Old Navy flipflops? Can’t go wrong with these.

The aqua and red ones are on sale for $1.99, and the rest are $2.50 when you buy 2 or more. :)

I think people would wear the flip flops again and again, since they are just so fun!

I concur with the Old Navy flip flops. You can get just about any color that will match your decor and people are much more likely to wear them again. Plus you save $$!

Maybe my feet are especially gross and dirty, but whenver I wear Old Navy flip flops to the beach, they have dirty little toe smudges by the end of the day…

Miss Ant–yeah, that happens to me, too. I learned from a friend that you can just toss them in the dishwasher (in a separate load from all the dishes!) and that should clean them. Haven’t tried it myself so I don’t know if it works, but it’s worth a shot.

You are not the only ones Miss Ant and Katie. Mines too!

I love option 2- if I had those, I would wear them everywhere. But if not, Old Navy flipflops would work wonderfully as well.

miss daisy - slipper baskets are a basket full of slippers for your female guests in high heels to rest their weary feet. :)

Aaahhh, that’s what a slipper basket is for. Thanks for explaining, Bee.

I picked up 20 pairs of flip flops from Goodwill last weekend for $0.49 a pair. They’re similar to the ones at Old Navy, but there is a little red flower on the strap. They look like these: http://www.craftdirect.co.nz/catalog/main/tutorials/flipflop1.jpg but all in red.

I think the straw-soled ones are very pretty, but I always find those types of soles to be very uncomfortable.

Have you thought about slipper socks with the little traction pads on the bottom?

I like option 2…I live in California but you should check out what vyv said. I bought a bunch of different colors for only $1.00 and the only difference is the design on the bottom. mine have cute little flowers and a butterfly.
